Weather warnings for wind and rain have been issued for °¬˛ćAƬ this weekend. See the latest information and warnings here:
Try to always be prepared for adverse weather. We’re signposting advice on our channels on how to stay safe and check your risks during this time.
We’re preparing for the forecasts and crews will be located across the borough in the areas most affected by the recent floods, and ready to respond to any incidents caused by high winds.
Crews are closely monitoring the areas and will be equipped and ready to respond to any incidents of flooding. Preventative work on drains, gullies, gratings and culverts is being carried out in these areas and other known hotspots. This proactive work is detecting and clearing blockages and debris, to reduce the risk of local flooding.
Sandbags are in stock ready. Some are already available in areas affected last time and more are ready to be distributed as needed.
We are aware of the ongoing issue with the drainage/culvert in Railway Street, Llanhilleth. Investigations are continuing but are being impacted by water levels, which remain high. During the weather warning we will have a crew located in this area with sandbags and appropriate equipment as a precaution.
If you can, please check on anyone who may be vulnerable.
Please contact us on 01495 311556 to report any incidents.
