A staff member at Abertillery Learning Community's Roseheyworth Road Campus has received a COVID-19 positive test. Those affected have been identified and asked to self- isolate in line with current Government guidelines, and in consultation with the Environmental Health Department, Public Health Wales and °¬˛ćAƬ Education team.
These include:
• 2 year 3/4 classes, totalling 60 children
• 3 Key Stage 2 teachers
• The self-isolation period for the year 5/6 class that were sent home Tuesday has also been extended by 4 days as a result of today’s positive case.
Measures and procedures are already in place within all °¬˛ćAƬ schools to limit group numbers and pupil contact, coupled with enhanced cleaning regimes and COVID Secure Risk Assessments. There is no need for anyone who has not been contacted to self-isolate or be unduly concerned.

All residents are encouraged to remain alert to Covid-19 and continue to follow the latest national guidance to help combat the spread of the virus.
School staff remain vigilant to pupils displaying any symptoms, and are ready to take appropriate action. Parents, carers and guardians can support this by remaining alert and ensuring that children do not attend school if they develop any potential symptoms, however mild.
