In September 2015, °¬˛ćAƬ was issued with a Compliance Notice which set out a requirement to implement 171 of the 176 standards.
One of the statutory requirements of the new Welsh language standards is to create and publish a five year strategy which sets out how we will promote and facilitate the use of Welsh.
We have developed a Draft 5 Year Strategy which outlines our proposed strategic priorities. We have also included a target to increase the number and percentage of Welsh speakers and learners in °¬˛ćAƬ to ensure that we play our part in supporting the Welsh Government’s vision of a million Welsh speakers by 2050.
This is a strategy for the Borough as a whole, not for any one organisation. Delivering the strategy will therefore rely on partnership working, between the public, private and education sectors and, most importantly of all, with the people of °¬˛ćAƬ. We will achieve this through the effective implementation of an action plan which will be developed following full consultation with our partners and citizens.
Consultation opens 9 January 2017 and closes 3 February 2017. Please complete the consultation survey in the Strategy. If you wish to receive a paper copy of the consultation, please contact:
