or by attending one of our budget challenge events taking place around the borough this November. There will be information about how the Council is funded and details of specific savings proposals that are being put forward for people to comment on.
The council has received its provisional financial settlement from Welsh Government and is facing a 1% reduction in its revenue support grant. This reduction means that the Council has to find ÂŁ5.8 million worth of savings in the next financial year.
Our °¬˛ćAƬ Budget Challenge engagement programme kicks off in Tredegar on 15 November and the full calendar of events is shown below:

The engagement programme continues the commitment to be more proactive in engaging with local people about the financial challenges ahead and the difficult decisions to be made over the funding and delivery of services.
The formal decision over savings will be made by Councillors when they consider setting the budget at a Full Council meeting in January 2018.
