Customer Services
C2BG (the Council’s Contact Centre) will close at 12pm on 24th December 2024 and reopen at 8am on 2nd January 2025.
The Emergency out-of-hours service can be contacted on the usual number of 01495 311556 during this period.
The Piper Alarm service will also continue to operate. Enquiries regarding Piper lifeline alarms out of office hours should be directed to Taking Care - 0330 678 1097
Social Services Duty Team
The Duty Team Office will close at 12.30pm on 24th December 2024 and reopen at 9am on 2nd January 2025.

Registration Services
The Registration Service is open for appointments until 1pm and then telephone queries until 4pm on Monday, 23rd December. Telephone queries and booked appointments only on Tuesday 24th December. Death registrations from 30th to 31st December 10am until 2pm. Normal service will resume on 2nd January 2025.
Community Hubs
Will close at 12:30pm on 24th December 2024 and reopen at 9am on 2nd January 2025.

Waste and Recycling
Recycling and Refuse collections will be two days late during Christmas week and one day late during the New Year period. Collections will resume as normal from Monday 6th January 2025.
Nappy and Hygiene sacks will be collected from the usual collection point on Sunday 29th December 2024 and Saturday 4th January 2025.
The Council’s Recycling Centres (including The Den Reuse Shop at the HWRC Abertillery) will be open during the Christmas and New Year period between the hours of 9am and 5.30pm (last entry 5.20pm) for residents to dispose of waste material. Both sites will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day only. Please note, that both sites will still be closed on their usual closure day, which is every Tuesday and Wednesday at Roseheyworth and every Thursday and Friday at New Vale.
